Smitten by:: Paper Statement

If something, I love statement jewelry. I remember my mom wearing long dresses with huge necklaces -or at least they seemed huge when I was young and..small. And I love paper goodies as well..
Τhat being said I believe you can imagine why I chose Doris and her beautiful handcrafted pieces of jewelry and ornaments to introduce you to today.
I really admire people who find the time to keep their day job and their hobby balanced as well, and this is one of the reasons Doris interview caught my eye. She’s a German teacher and she makes these wonderful goodies too! Ιn her etsy interview she says: “I really like my work as a German teacher. Where else do you have the chance to know so many interesting people from all over the world who are staying in your own little town? ”
Her mom always insisted on handmade gifts so she learned to experiment with different techniques and materials. She loves  porcelain painting too so she runs a second etsy shop, offering some handpainted porcelains.
I totally recommend you to check her shop out… Her paper goodies are extremely beautiful and Doris seems to be a very talented woman 🙂
You can find her interview here if you want to know more about her and her magnificent work!

DIY | Plaster bowl

When I was young, about 12-13years old, my parents sent me to a great sports camp. Besides climbing and hiking we did some good crafting too. One day we were given some plaster bandages to make masks. It was really fun and I remember my mom being very proud when I came back with it! Last month some friends reminded me of this technique and we made some masks again. If some of you follow me on instagram you might have seen this one. Fortunately we didn’t use all the bandages for the masks, so the other day I had this use the same technique to make a bowl. The only thing I needed was a bowl and some water. This is the result! I think it turned out really nice and I love how handmade it looks!
I tried to make a video to show you how to do it. It is really short but I think you’ll get the basic idea.

On my mind:: moodboard + words

I love the combination of these soft pink and grey hues with white. It kinda makes me feel winter is coming, but in a light way. But since weekend is coming instead, I’ll give you some good links.

First of all, don’t forget to check Blogmilks new themes-I gotta say, some of them are stunning!!
